Seven banners for SMTAFE
I was commissioned to design banners for South Metropolitan TAFE for their cultural safe spaces project.
My Nanna and Elder Norma MacDonald was my mentor for this project. Together we went on country colleting native plant fibres for my ephemeral art base. I then used digital artwork as an over lay, depicting how the land feels in each season.
It’s my hope that having these artworks in the community it will help to create culturally safe places.
Encouraging people to start to notice the soft transitions of our Noongar Six Seasons. Recognizing Totems and landmarks to use as a way to recall each new season.
